We are excited to be donating all proceeds from the auction to Drop4Drop, a non-profit organization that aims to solve the world’s water crisis by funding clean water solutions for developing communities. The organization is dedicated to educate communities in need about water hygiene and practices to improve general health and drastically reduce the instances of water-borne diseases and mortality rates.

It is estimated that 1 in 4 people — 2 billion people — around the world lack safe drinking water and almost half of the global population — 3.6 billion people — lack safe sanitation. According to UNICEF, over 700 children under age 5 die from diarrhoea linked to unsafe water, sanitation and poor hygiene every day. Drop4Drop operates across India and Africa and provides emergency relief in response to disasters such as the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Felix in Nicaragua.

We are humbled and honored to be helping fund clean water solutions for developing communities by auctioning off our Cardanian Cup NFT. The Cardanian Cup is a tournament where eight Cardano projects compete in various voting rounds lasting 24 hours. The ones with the most votes pass to the next round until one winner is chosen. Due to the unwavering support of our community, GeroWallet was the winner of the 2nd Cardanian Cup.

Up for auction, is the Cardanian Cup trophy CNFT that we have aptly named “The Cardanian Atlas”. In Greek Mythology, Atlas is the Titan god of endurance who is responsible for upholding the heavens on his shoulders for eternity. Some say, Atlas also instilled in mankind the knowledge of astrology, allowing them to navigate the seas and predict the seasons. Charles Hoskinson, one of the founders of Cardano, is the Atlas of the crypto space and is the face of our trophy. Since its inception, Cardano has faced criticism and doubt from the crypto community for its deliberate development process. As CEO of IOG, Charles has endured the negativity and continued to lead his team, building Cardano to what it is today.
