GeroWallet, Cardano’s first all-in-one wallet, is pleased to announce the integration of Moralis development services. Moralis is a fully managed backend infrastructure for Web3 development that is fast, reliable, and infinitely scalable. For GeroWallet, this is an exciting integration which will help accelerate its debut into the decentralized finance (DeFi) arena. Moralis will provide the GeroWallet team with less time management on backend infrastructure, in turn allowing the team to focus efforts on delivering an unparalleled, simplified user experience.

Moralis SDK

The Moralis Web3 Software Development Kit (SDK) provides several distinct tools for developers to create efficient, robust decentralized applications (dApps). Moralis’ Atomic Real-Time API (Application Programming Interface, software that allows two applications to work together) allows for real-time handling of transactions and smart contract events across multiple blockchains. Other APIs promote development of distributed applications that are more robust and secure. Cloud functions, for example, enable dApps that are lean and operate independent of computing power. Developers can use Moralis.File for cloud storage, or IPFS (InterPlanetary Filesystem, a protocol for distributed file sharing) for more decentralized file storage.

Speedy Nodes API

Moralis Speedy Nodes are essentially full nodes (and full archive nodes) for the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Polygon blockchains (with more on the way). In addition to offering the same functionality as traditional nodes, Speedy Nodes are fully integrated with Moralis services and provide improved speed and reliability. Moralis uses the same infrastructure for its nodes as companies like Netflix and Google, ensuring excellent performance and uptime. Due to these nodes being infinitely scalable, typical roadblocks such as price and reliability are less of a barrier to building node infrastructure.

Deep Index API

The Moralis Deep Index API allows developers to directly query the blockchain databases that power Moralis. Projects utilizing the API are not constrained by the information that is stored in Moralis databases; they have the flexibility to quickly query for any historical blockchain data across multiple blockchains.

The GeroWallet Connection

There are two broadly defined features of Moralis which make it especially well-suited for GeroWallet development:

First, and perhaps most clear: Moralis can significantly lighten the workload of GeroWallet developers, allowing them to focus on the main goal of total DeFi integration. GeroWallet’s idea for leveraging DeFi tools starts with chaining together the most popular tools behind a single user-friendly interface. Less time working on backend infrastructure means more time spent delivering an unparalleled, properly simplified user experience. Said infrastructure is, however, no less important than integrations and front-end development. It must be fast, resilient, and functional. Moralis will make it easier for GeroWallet to build, but without forcing any sacrifices in quality.

Second, building all of GeroWallet’s features natively could make the application unnecessarily bloated, leading to an increased memory footprint, CPU usage, and overall demand on system resources. Conversely, the integration of Moralis APIs will keep GeroWallet relatively lightweight as the application will be able to call required functions only as they are needed. This customizability allows GeroWallet to efficiently utilize more from a suite of products that are already optimized in their own right.
