GeroWallet x ADA Handle
We are excited to announce that GeroWallet, Cardano’s first all-in-one decentralized finance (DeFi) wallet, will integrate ADA Handle’s custom wallet address services. Coming soon to GeroWallet: your Cardano Handle.
Cryptographic hashes are important. These lengthy strings of letters and numbers represent the security that makes blockchain technology usable. But they are not readable, memorizable, or fun. You will likely never recite your Cardano wallet address to a friend (we look forward to being proven wrong), but a username is user-friendly.
That is why we’re so eager to integrate ADA Handle and offer custom wallet addresses to GeroWallet users. Your Handle resolves to your current wallet address every time, and unlike usernames issued on centralized platforms, your Handle belongs to you, forever.
Handles are secured on the Cardano blockchain. In fact, the Handle routing services live entirely on-chain, which means ADA Handle never sees or interacts with your private wallet keys. The service is accessible through a web app (where you will also be able to send and receive CNTs from launch day) or through an upcoming public API.
Each handle is limited to 15 characters and supports alphanumeric characters plus dashes, underscores, and periods. Currently, ADA Handle imagines a price structure with 5 tiers:
- 39 Legendary Handles: 1 character, auction only
- 1,521 Ultra Rare Handles: 2 characters, 500 $ADA each
- 59,219 Rare Handles: 3 characters, 100 $ADA each
- 140,842,288,080 Common Handles: 4–7 characters, 50 $ADA each
- 753,789,555,901,817,000,000,000 Basic Handles: 8–15 characters, 10 $ADA each
