GeroWallet is pleased to announce our latest partnership with none other than PhotoChromic! As Decentralized Finance (DeFi) continues to mature, we are witnessing more stringent and thorough regulations being put in place to safeguard the funds of users as well as to prevent illegal operations such as money laundering. Additionally, the increased occurrence of security breaches of centralized databases in recent years has led many to recognize that our personal information is no longer safe online.
In order to provide an end-to-end DeFi solution to our users, GeroWallet supports our need to simplify the identity verification process while balancing the importance of providing secure storage for one’s personal data. With PhotoChromic’s Self-Sovereign Identity and biometric identity verification system, our users will be able hash ownership of digital/physical assets, personal identification details and other important credentials into an NFT. When identification is required, users simply connect their wallet to the relevant platform and allow access to only the necessary details.
PhotoChromic uses an algorithm that combines the biometric hashing of user’s attributes, proof of liveliness and identity to create a piece of generative art that is minted into an NFT. For users that wish to be identifiable, they can choose to print a photo of their faces on the NFT.
In this modern day and age, it is not the intention of Gerowallet to abandon security in the interest of accessibility, but instead creating a balance of the two — greater security while ensuring that your accessibility is not sacrificed.
