GeroWallet’s Smart Contract External Audit by Tweag
In the spirit of further elevating the security and trust on our platform, GeroWallet is excited to announce Tweag will be performing a third party security audit on the Cardano smart contracts that MLabs has proudly developed. The smart contracts enable the utility era of the $GERO token by providing decentralized governance, native staking and unlocking of premium features within GeroWallet. Completing the audit brings the $GERO token one step closer to bridging to Cardano which will be the next step in our roadmap.
Tweag Software Innovation Lab is a firm that specializes in providing scaling solutions and improving productivity for clients in the biotech, fintech and autonomous driving industries. More importantly, the firm is highly specialized in Haskell and has also been heavily involved in the design of Cardano’s Smart Contract development language, Plutus.
Tweag will be manually inspecting GeroWallet’s smart contract code to detect vulnerabilities that can be exploited by bad actors and in turn compromise user assets. In addition, Tweag will perform quality control of the source code and try multiple exploit scenarios in an attempt to emulate malicious interaction with the contract.
The team at GeroWallet is highly confident in MLabs quality of work and secure coding standards. Nonetheless, the audit will give us an additional layer of reassurance that we are providing the best experience and in turn, keep your assets safe. Of the many auditing firms that we shortlisted, Tweag was commissioned because they were able to offer the expertise that best fit our needs. Their direct involvement in the development of Plutus makes them a domain authority and puts us in good hands. In addition to the audit, GeroWallet will be adding the smart contract to a bug bounty program for an extra layer of security.
The audit is scheduled to be completed in the month of February. Rest assured, we will announce the results of the audit once they are available.
