Perpetual Futures on Cardano Are Finally Here
Cardano’s DeFi stack has taken a major step forward. With the latest update to Gero, users can now access decentralized perpetual futures directly on Cardano through an integration with Strike Finance.
Until now, perpetual futures trading on Cardano was largely missing. Traders who wanted leverage or hedging tools had to rely on centralized exchanges and custodial platforms. This integration changes that by bringing perpetual futures directly into a non-custodial wallet environment.
Through Strike Finance, users can open long or short positions using ADA as collateral, with leverage of up to 10x. All positions are managed on chain using Cardano smart contracts, meaning users keep control of their funds at every step. There are no centralized intermediaries and no requirement to move assets into custodial accounts.
This matters because perpetual futures are a core building block of modern crypto markets. They allow traders to hedge risk, express market views, and manage exposure without relying on expiry dates. Bringing these tools on chain strengthens Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem and moves it closer to parity with more mature networks.
With this integration, Gero continues to evolve beyond a wallet into a full DeFi access layer, combining self-custody with advanced financial tools built directly on Cardano.
